On the table: News from the Family Table Collaborative
Hello! While we are busy scurrying around getting ready for our open house this Sunday, there is lots going on in the building and with the Collaborative.
This past week, we distributed over 300 dinners to families and seniors in Dennis, Yarmouth, Falmouth, Sandwich and Hyannis. All cooked in our kitchen under Jeni’s leadership using food donated by Chatham Bars Inn Farm and Cape Cod Organic Farm, packaged by a great team of volunteers. It is truly a community effort to help take care of our friends in need on Cape Cod.
On Monday and Tuesday this week, we cooked with Cape Wellness Collaborative. Their Wellness Eats program supports people facing cancer with nutrient-dense frozen meals, and we are thrilled to be able to help them serve more people by sharing our large kitchen for the meal prep. In addition, we will be selling some of these ready to heat and serve meals in our Maker’s Market, so anyone can enjoy them!
And while all this is going on, we are planning for Thanksgiving – it’s hard to believe it’s only a couple of weeks away. We will be providing dinner for 500 people in a number of towns across the Cape. Details will be coming soon to sign up those families who need some help this holiday.
And finally (drum roll, please)…
